This is a collection of all the information about my vampires that I've compiled. Please read through it and familiarize yourself with it so you know how to play these vampires.
-DESCRIPTION OF THESE VAMPIRES-
First off, they are NOT the undead. They are very much alive. So really, they're more like a super species of human. You know, stronger, faster, odd abilities. And they don't need blood to stay alive, but they do need it to stay strong and healthy. And if they go without it too long, they go into a blood rage (basically, a really nasty withdrawal, as it's sort of an addiction). Sunlight, garlic, holy things, etc, don't hurt them, but they are nocturnal creatures (like many predators in the animal kingdom).
Also, they have this thing I call Guardian Animal. This is not a pet (as some people have thought) it is an animal form they can shift into (generally an animal that connects with their persona). They can only have one animal form, and it cannot be a mythical animal. Biting another vampire is considered an intimate thing, and should not be done so lightly. Even without the pleasure venom, it's a pleasurable experience for both the biter and the one being bitten. Use discretion.
NOTE: These vampires have three types of venom. Pain venom, Pleasure venom, and Turn venom. I'm sure those are pretty self explanatory.
SOMETHING I FORGOT TO ADD! If a human isn't healthy when someone tries to turn them, they'll just die. In order to support the evolving genes in the body, it must be healthy and strong!
Since there was a bit of controversy on what this is, I'll post it up.
Pureblood--Someone born to two pureblood parents
Impureblood--Someone with one or more turnblood parents
Turnblood--Someone turned into a vampire from being injected with the turn venom
WARNING! DO NOT be marking others for the hell of it, or marking each other because another couple did it. This is something that really needs to be thought through, because it's rather serious. So I think, if you have an interest in marking, make sure you've built up a proper relationship with that character, and PLEASE run it by me first. Mkay?
This is a special sort of bite. There is not feeding, or blood being spilled really, nor is there any sort of venom injected. During this bite, the biter passes some of their own essence (essentially a small piece of their soul) into the one being bitten. The puncture wounds heal on their own to create the symbol of the biter in swirly twisting thin white scar like lines. Please keep in mind that in order for this bite to work, no blood must be spilled or consumed, and no venom must be injected, as mentioned above.
Once marked, it cannot be reversed. It is a permanence. However, a mark can be changed by someone of a purer blood biting to mark someone who's been marked.
Example-- An impureblood or a pureblood can change the mark of a turnblood.
A pureblood can change the mark of both an impureblood and turnblood.
For a pureblood's mark on someone to be changed, another of a purer line (so, someone a generation higher than the students, or born closer to a higher generation--to put this into perspective, Drakaius can mark anyone he chooses too, no matter what blood status has already marked that person since he's the purest these vampires can get.) must bite that person with the intentions of biting them.
To give an example of this, say your character bites and marks another, and elder, even though you're both technically purebloods, could change this mark because they're closer to the original blood.
However, someone like Anna, who's born directly beneath someone of near purest blood, may potentially be able to change the mark of another her age, due to the fact that she's born so close beneath the purest current blood. However, it's possible for others to be near this level too. Make sense?
ONCE YOU'VE BEEN MARKED, YOU CANNOT MARK ANYONE ELSE YOURSELF, OTHER THAN YOUR MARKER.
Marking someone is a very sacred thing to do. Because it soulbinds that person to you. They'll yearn for you, always, and won't be able to venture far away from you without feeling that longing, broken feeling. Essentially that person becomes a part of you, or, rather, you a part of them. They'll also be incapable of developing romantic feelings for anyone else, or capable of feeling intimate pleasure from anyone else.
This however, does not necessarily mean they're in love with you. For you can mark someone who hates you, and they could still resent you, but they'll also feel that need for you, and won't feel complete without you around.
As well as a visible mark on the skin, you'll also carry a hint of the scent of your marker, letting others know you're not available as a mate.
Powers: Like all species, some abilities may not apply. And since I can't go through a list of every single ability out there and say which aren't okay, I'll simply let you know as you make your character if your choices are okay or not. Please also remember that blood status AND age determine how strong a vampire is in general, as well as practice with their abilities. (i.e. If someone doesn't practice their abilities, obviously they aren't going to have good control of them, nor will they be all that strong.)
